What the Blackout left behind

In the near future of the RAIN Universe, an anomalous event over the Pacific turns the sky red and unleashes a catastrophe along the US West Coast. Earthquakes and a tsunami reshape Los Angeles. Entire coastal districts disappear beneath the water. The surviving city rebuilds around a shoreline its residents barely recognize.

Along the former Lincoln Boulevard, the Lincoln Waterfront wall marks that altered boundary. Nearby, buildings deemed too dangerous to inhabit stand sealed with evacuation tape. Much of the Red Zone is scheduled for demolition as the rebuilt city expands. For now, it remains a place the authorities want the public to stay out of.

A permanent state of curfew

The federal Curfew Patrol Unit, or CPU, enforces the restrictions. Entering the exclusion area means risking encounters with its patrols. Yet the district is not completely deserted: the homeless population is exempt from the curfew, a stark exception within a system that otherwise treats movement as a privilege.

For those who doubt the official explanation of the Blackout, the ruins hold another significance. Ivan Cyborg and Angelini Bee believe answers lie deep inside the Red Zone. What happened over the Pacific, and what the authorities are concealing, remain unresolved questions at the heart of the story.

The wardrobe: necessity over style

The collection’s CURFEW identity comes from this exposed, uncertain environment. Stealth tones, distressed surfaces, layered silhouettes and utility details suggest clothes assembled around the need to keep moving. Warcore influences meet grounded desert cyberpunk; the mood is worn, improvised and wary.
